What is the machine, and is it loaded, raised or on jacks? Which part has gone: drawbar, pivot, axle mount, frame rail? Is it mild steel, high tensile, cast or stainless, if you know? Some cast and hardened parts will not take a lasting weld, and it is better to find that out on the phone. Will the ground carry a van? Is there mains power? Are straw, chaff, diesel, fertiliser or stock near where sparks will land?
Our first aim is to stop further harm: support the load, brace the frame, tack what is hanging. Then we weld whatever will get the machine through the job in hand. If a proper repair needs a new pin boss, plate or section, we measure up and make it in the Norwich workshop for a return trip. Day or night, you hear the cost and agree it before any work is done.
An injury, or a load or building that might come down, is a 999 matter first. Chock raised kit, stop the engine, pocket the key and stay clear.
