Start with the clock: how long before product is lost or the lorry must leave. Then the part that has failed, what it carries, and whether it is stainless or mild steel. Is the floor wet from washdown, and can open product be cleared or covered? Who signs the hot work permit at night? Finish with the postcode, the gate to use, and anything close by that burns, such as packaging, pallets or oil.
On site the order is fixed. First stop anything moving or falling, with a prop, a clamp or a tack. Next comes a holding repair good enough to run the shift out, such as a stitched crack or a welded patch. The lasting repair is done there and then if the steel allows, or made in our Norwich workshop and fitted at your next planned stop. You agree the price before an arc is struck.
If a person is hurt or steelwork could collapse, ring 999 before you ring us. Switch off, lock off and keep staff away from the machine until our welder is with you.
