One, what has failed and what load it takes. Two, the metal: mild steel, stainless, galvanised, or not sure. Three, the address, postcode and whether you are north or south of the bridges. Four, how a van reaches the job, and who opens up out of hours. Five, is there a power supply. Six, what is nearby that burns or matters: fuel, resin, timber, product, the public.
The first visit is about making safe: a brace, a fish plate, a temporary weld, a prop under a load. If that is also a sound permanent repair, good. If not, the replacement is made in our Norwich workshop and brought back down the A146 on a planned visit. Nothing starts until you have had a price and said yes to it.
Injuries, or a structure at risk of falling, mean 999 first. Keep people away, stay out from under a damaged load, and isolate power to the machine.
