Transport is part of every estimate, and a longer run costs more than a short one. On a full load it is a small share of the job. On one light beam it can be a large share, and we will say so plainly in the estimate so you can decide. The estimate itself is free.
Often we do not need to. Drawings, photographs and measurements are enough for most estimates. Where new steel joins an existing building we do come and measure, by appointment, normally once the price is agreed in principle. We do not size steel on a visit. That is for your engineer.
