Metal gates and railings in Attleborough

Quote my Attleborough gates

Metal gates in Attleborough, made to measure for a town that is adding houses, drives and business units every year. Driveway gates, railings and yard gates, fabricated in our Norwich workshop and hung by us. Bring us in while the build is still on paper.

Plan the steel earlyBefore the piers go up

Attleborough, about 17 miles south west of our Norwich workshop down the A11.

Driveway gates, railings, yard gates

Metal gates are easiest when ordered before the brickwork.

The cheapest moment to get a gate right is while the piers, posts and drive are still lines on a drawing.

Attleborough is set for major housing growth, and new homes bring new drives, boundary walls and extensions. We make metal gates for Attleborough properties at any stage, but asked early, we can set the pier spacing, hinge positions and ground levels to suit the steel.

Our trade is steel. We make and fit the gate leaves, posts, hinges, latches, drop bolts and railing panels, and nothing in brick or concrete. Your bricklayer builds the piers and walls, your groundworker lays the drive and sets any post footings, and an automation firm supplies motors if you want them. What we add is the information that ties it together: opening sizes, fixing heights and an automation-ready frame.

How the job runs with a builder

Sizes agreed first, steel made, hung last.

Gates are the last thing to arrive on a building job, yet the sizes are needed near the start. We work in three steps that fit round the other trades.

01 / Set out

Pier centres and levels given to your builder.

From your drawing or a site visit we fix the clear opening, leaf widths and finished drive level. The bricklayer gets pier centres and hinge heights in writing, so fixing plates land on solid brick, not a mortar joint.

02 / Make and coat

Welded in Norwich while the site moves on.

Leaves, posts and railing panels are welded up from box section and bar as separate pieces while your drive is laid. Galvanising, powder coating in a colour to match the house, or primer and paint can be arranged before delivery.

03 / Hang

Fitted once the mortar has cured.

New piers need time to gain strength before they carry a swinging leaf, so we agree the date with your builder. Then we bring the finished steel down the A11, drill, fix, and set the leaves level and square to each other.

Estimates for Attleborough

Send the drawing, or the opening if it exists.

On a new build or extension, a site plan and an elevation showing the entrance are enough to start. Mark the width between piers, the height you want and the finished level of the drive, and tell us which way the ground falls.

If the opening is already built, send the clear width, a few photographs and what the gates would fix to. Pictures of a style you like help, as does the colour of the doors and windows. Tell us now if the gates will be motorised, because bracket plates and frame stiffness are decided before we cut steel.

A reminder of the split. Brickwork, footings, drives and ducts for cables are for your builder. Motors, photocells and keypads are for an automation installer. We make and hang the steel, and give both of them the dimensions to work to.

Haverscroft, Bunns Bank, Snetterton

Security gates and railings for A11 sites.

Food and logistics sites around Attleborough have lorries, forklifts and people on foot sharing one entrance. We make swing or sliding yard gate frames with a separate pedestrian gate beside them, and fence panels to match, all hung on steel posts.

Inside the fence, steel railings and barrier panels keep walkways apart from lorry routes. On food sites we follow your permits and hygiene rules. A gate clipped by a trailer can often be straightened and rewelded where it hangs by our mobile welder.

Around Attleborough

Town plots and the villages on either side.

We hang gates in Attleborough itself and out in Old Buckenham, Great Ellingham, Banham and Snetterton, where drives are longer and openings wider. This corner of south Norfolk is an easy run from the workshop, so measuring up is simple.

Estimates are free and can be worked up from drawings or from your own sizes and photographs. We confirm dimensions on site before ordering steel, and the price is agreed before work starts.

Attleborough gate FAQs

Asked by builders and homeowners.

When should I order gates on a new build?

Talk to us before the piers are built. We can then give your bricklayer the pier centres and fixing heights, and make the gates while the drive is finished. If the piers are already up, we simply measure what is there.

Do you cover Old Buckenham and Banham?

Yes. Old Buckenham, Banham, Great Ellingham and Snetterton are all close to Attleborough and about 17 miles from our Norwich workshop. We visit to measure, then return to hang.

Can you add a pedestrian gate to a yard entrance?

Yes. A separate steel gate for people on foot can be made to hang beside the main yard gates, on its own posts or a shared one, with a latch or lock plate to suit your access control. Concrete bases and any wiring are by others.

Can driveway gates match my new front railings?

Yes. Driveway gates, a side gate and railing panels can share one bar pattern, top detail and colour. Ordering them together also means one coating batch, so the finish matches across the frontage.
