How Beccles gates and railings are built
Each leaf, post and panel is fabricated on its own in our Norwich workshop, finished, then brought over the border to Beccles ready to hang.
Box section forms the frame, filled with flat bar or round bar depending on the look you want, whether that is a working farm gate or something smarter for a driveway. Each leaf goes together flat on the bench so it stays true, then gets its hinges and latch.
Left bare, steel corrodes fast this close to the river, so finish matters. Paint over primer, galvanising or powder coating in your chosen colour can be sorted before it leaves us. On farms near Beccles, galvanised is usually the sensible choice.
We bring the finished pieces out to Beccles and hang them on site, fixing to sound piers or walls, or setting new steel posts where the ground needs it. Leaves are levelled so they close cleanly.
What we need to quote your gates
We need the clear width of the opening, how tall you want it, and what it will fix to, existing piers, a wall or posts we build fresh. A site by the river often slopes across the gateway, so mention that too.

No. We are steel fabricators, not bricklayers, so gates, posts and railings are our end of the job. Piers, walls and foundations sit with your builder, who we can supply with fixing positions and sizes.
No, though we will build the frame so an installer can add motors later without trouble. Flag it early and we will square away bracket positions with them before anything is welded.
Width across the opening, the height wanted, what it fixes to, whether the ground slopes, a photo or sketch of the style, and the finish. That is generally enough to put together a free estimate.
Yes. A hinge that has dropped, a pivot that has seized, a broken latch or a knock from machinery can usually be sorted on site by our mobile welder, or the gate can come back to the workshop instead.
